If not, then your problem is this missing file. Mount the /EFI partition (it is most likely /dev/sda1 and fs type is vfat). After installing Fedora, boot off LiveCD. The caveat is that if your problem isn't the same as mine, my solution won't work for you. I'll have to read the tutorial again to give a precise explanation - I guess it has something to do with Apple's EFI boot idiosyncracies and Fedora's refusal to recognize them. the current v 2.3 firmware out for the 15" 2011 Macbook Pros is not UEFI 2.x compliant at all, it's still based on the older Intel EFI which no operating system is officially supporting as far as I know, except Apple's Mac OS. Also, Apple's firmware versioning scheme should not be confused with UEFI standard versioning, they aren't related. They need to provide a compliant UEFI 2.x based firmware rather than the proprietary and undocumented firmware they are using (largely based on Intel EFI 1.10 supposedly but at this point I think it's mostly fair to say it's Apple EFI). The longer term solution is really in Apple's hands. Whereas with the CSM this isn't possible which is why battery life basically sucks when booting Windows or any non-Mac OS system while using CSM mode booting.
